Autism Nova Scotia’s Sexuality Education Team
The Healthy Relationships, Sexuality, and Autism (HRSA) Team is Autism Nova Scotia's interdisciplinary sexuality team and includes a Sexologist and Sex Educator with diverse educational and practical experiences working with Autistic people. This team focuses on providing education, training, and resources to support in bridging the gap in services available for Autistic individuals/individuals with autism in relation to their sexuality and relationships through a sex-positive and person directed lens.
Comprehensive sexuality education is a curriculum-based process of teaching and learning about the cognitive, emotional, physical, and social aspects of sexuality. Autism Nova Scotia has successfully developed a CSE curriculum called the Healthy Relationships, Sexuality & Autism (HRSA program) to eliminate barriers Autistic people/people with autism face in accessing sexuality education.
